The largest of its kind worldwide – heat exchanger leaves production:

After years of planning and excellent welding work, the tantalum experts at Tantec completed an order at the beginning of July of which they are particularly proud: the heat exchanger for an overseas customer, reverently named “Moby Dick” by the craftsmen, is the largest ever designed and built heat exchanger out of tantalum. The heat exchanger successfully combines the planning of the design engineers with the craftsmanship of the production specialists. With a length of around 7,1 m and a diameter of 1,2 m, it has a considerable empty weight of 15.3 tonnes. With a number of 1766 pipes, it offers 426.5 square metres of exchange surface area – a world-record.
